Ana Echevarria

1990 Licenciatura (five years degree) in Geography and History (focus on Medieval History), Universidad Complutense, Madrid.

1995 PhD in History, The University of Edinburgh, Scotland, U.K.: "The Fortress of Faith: The Perception of Muslims in Fifteenth Century Spain". Supervisors: Prof. Angus I. K. MacKay and Mr. Allan Hood.

1999 UCLA Center for Medieval & Renaissance Studies (Los Angeles, California): summer scholarship.

1998–2001 Postdoctoral  Scholarship of the Comunidad Autónoma de Madrid, to conduct research at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia on the topic “Social and political impacts of conversion to Christianity in fifteenth century Castile”.

2008 International Award for Research on the History and Culture of al-Andalus, Chair of Arabic Studies Al-Babtain Foundation (Kuwait)-University of Cordoba, for the book Los musulmanes de Ávila (siglos XII-XVI).

2011–2012 Fellowship of the Käte Hamburger Kolleg “Dynamics in the History of Religions between Asia and Europe”, Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Germany).
