Patrick Laurency

Patrick Laurency is currently doing postdoctoral research for the Center of Excellence at the University of Konstanz. From 2006 to 2011, he worked as trainer and consultant for the “Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit”, situated in Bonn, Germany (GIZ GmbH Bonn; Division 2.03: Administrative Policy/Security Policy and Division 2.04 Democracy Promotion and Administrative Reforms), where he mainly taught foreign upper-level civil servants in the field of development administration.

Alongside, he was active as Associate Lecturer at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer from 2002 to 2012. From 2002 to 2006, he worked as a research fellow for the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer – Chair for Administrative Sciences, Development Policy and Public Law (Professor Dr. iur. Dr. h.c. Rainer Pitschas).

Laurency earned his doctoral degree in political science and economics (Dr. rer. pol.) “magna cum laude” from the German University for Administrative Sciences Speyer in November 2011. He further holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (Magister rerum publicarum) from Speyer (2002) and a Master’s Degree in Political Science and History (Magister Artium) from the University of Konstanz (2000). In 1996 and 1997, he spent one year in Ireland, where he studied Irish history at University College Dublin.
