Travel and Accomodation

Konstanz is a university town of around 80,000 inhabitants located in the very south of Germany, bordering Switzerland. The area at the western end of Lake Constance is beautiful and attracts many tourists, in particular during summer.

Transport

Konstanz can be easily reached by car, train or plane. Visitors from abroad usually fly to Friedrichshafen, Stuttgart or Zurich and then go to Konstanz by train. Despite of having to cross the Swiss border, Konstanz is best connected to Zurich airport. In addition, most airlines provide direct flights to Zurich.

Accomodation

As for accommodation, the Meisterklasse has reserved a set of rooms in a reasonably priced guest house (see below). As soon as you have received the confirmation of your acceptance to the Meisterklasse, which will be around June 2nd, 2014, you may directly book there (important: you should mention the key word “Meisterklasse”, otherwise you might be told that they are fully booked).

Please note that you are required to pay for the accommodation upon arrival. After the Meisterklasse, you may hand in the receipts in case you wish to apply for a grant.
